Exterior & Architectural Designer
Thoughtful design.
Individual character.
I believe the best exterior redesigns do not erase a home's character. They refine it.
About Mary Jo
I’m an architectural and exterior designer with 8+ years of professional design experience across residential and commercial projects. I specialize in exterior renovations and new build exterior design, helping homeowners make architectural, material and finish decisions with clarity before construction begins.
I work remotely with homeowners across the United States and Canada, developing an individual design around the home’s architecture or plans, preferences and goals.
Why exterior design
Over years of working in architectural design and visualization, I became particularly drawn to exterior transformations. Carefully placed materials, a stronger entrance or a more balanced exterior can change how a property is experienced while retaining what makes it distinctive.
I created Online Exterior Designer to make that guidance accessible remotely, with a clear visual reference for your decisions.
My Approach
I look at the exterior as one architectural composition. Proportions, house style and setting guide the placement of siding, stone and brick, the roof palette, windows, doors, trim and lighting. Landscaping and the approach to the entrance complete that picture.
A finish is considered in relation to everything around it. I use contrast, texture and visual hierarchy to clarify the architecture and improve curb appeal, aiming for lasting style rather than applying a trend.
What It’s Like to Work Together
I personally work on every project, combining architectural design, exterior color and material selection, 3D visualization, and photorealistic rendering. Each design is created around your actual home, not simply passed through a marketplace or generated from a prompt.
My goal is to give you clarity and confidence in your exterior decisions before the renovation begins.
Construction drawings, structural engineering and permits remain with qualified local professionals.
