Best Garage Door Colors for Brick and Siding
Learn when to blend a garage door with the house, when to coordinate it with trim, and how brick undertones affect the choice.

Decide how prominent the garage should be
A street-facing garage can occupy more visible area than the front entrance. A contrasting white door against warm brick may unintentionally become the focal point. Matching the siding or using a related mid-tone often reduces its visual weight.
Choose a color by the surrounding material
With red brick, consider warm taupe, deep bronze, muted olive or a body color drawn from the mortar. Against light siding, a garage in the wall color can feel calm; against darker siding, one step deeper can add definition. A wood-look finish can work when wood is repeated at the entry, but compare real samples because printed grains vary widely.
Use trim and panel design carefully
The panel profile, window inserts, hardware and frame color all affect the result. Highly ornate panels may conflict with a simple contemporary entrance. Avoid matching the garage to a tiny door accent if it makes a large, unrelated block of color.
View the exterior from the street
Test color at the scale of the actual opening, including the frame. If your eye reaches the garage before the front door, revisit the contrast and the entrance lighting. Confirm finish compatibility with the door material and local exposure.
